“Goro-Goro Stamp” (Rolling Stamp)
A uniquely designed stamp that prints its image as it rolls across the surface. The project began with a spark of curiosity when I stumbled upon a piece of timber at a local hardware store and wondered, “Could this log be turned into a stamp?” This piece is characterized by the satisfying sensation of applying even pressure along the wide, curved wooden block to achieve a flawless print.
The illustration on the stamp, titled “Absorbed Everyday Life,” captures the social climate of Japan in 2026. It depicts modern people engrossed in their smartphones, contrasting with the extraordinary phenomenon secretly unfolding right above their heads.
